We were Kostroma on Friday and Saturday. While there, we got to visit the Childrens hopechest regional center, 2 different orphanages, and a family center. We took an overnight train from Kostroma to Kirov Saturday night. Sunday we went to church (Russian Orthodox), then did some shopping/research for future trips. There is a good department store for us to buy supplies on future trips so we dont have to pack and carry everything.
Mon-Thurs this week will be the main emphasis of the trip. We spend Monday and Tuesday at one orphanage, and then Wednesday and Thursday at another orphanage. Then Thursday night, another overnight train to Moscow. Home on Saturday.
It is cold here and snowing. Haven't looked on a map to see where Kirov is, but I am sure we are pretty far north.
